Finding a family doctor is important to ensure that you and your family receive proper medical attention. Finding a family doctor is not always an easy task and you should get started on it right away. It may take several months of being on a waiting list to get a family doctor. The Find a Family Doctor service provided by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario will enable you to search for information about family physicians, including their practice addresses, telephone numbers, qualifications and whether they are accepting new patients. You may also want to ask your friends or family if their doctor is taking patients.
